Indinavir Sulphate equivalent to Indinavir

Indications Treatment of HIV infection in combination with antiretroviral
agents.
Description
Indinavir inhibits the HIV viral proteinase enzyme which prevents
cleavage of the gag-pol polyprotein, resulting in noninfectious,
immature viral particles.
Contraindications
Concomitant therapy with amiodarone, cisapride, ergot derivatives,
midazolam, pimozide, or triazolam; hypersensitivity to any
component
Dosage
Adults: 800mg orally every 8 hours with water 1 hour before or 2
hours after a meal. Patient should drink atleast 1.5 litres of
liquids in 24 hours.
