Amlodipine ………….5 mg
INDICATIONS
Hypertension
AMLACE® is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. AMLACE is
indicated for the symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina.
AMLACE may be used alone or in combination with other antianginal
agents.
AMLACE® is indicated for the treatment of confirmed or suspected
vasospastic angina. AMLACE® may be used as monotherapy or in
combination with other antianginal drugs.
In patients with recently documented CAD by angiography and
without heart failure or an ejection fraction <40%, AMLACE is
indicated to reduce the risk of hospitalization due to angina and
to reduce the risk of a coronary revascularization procedure.
Use
Amlodipine (Amlace®) is in a group of drugs called calcium channel
blockers. It works by relaxing (dilating) your blood vessels,
lowering blood pressure, and decreasing heart rate, which lowers
the workload on the heart. It also dilates coronary arteries
increasing blood flow to the heart.
Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or
chest pain (angina).
Dosage
Take Amlace® exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take it
in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the
directions on your prescription label.
Amlace® is usually taken once daily. Your doctor may occasionally
change your dose to make sure you get the best results from this
medication. Your chest pain may become worse when you first start
taking amlodipine or when your dose is increased. Call your doctor
if your chest pain is severe or ongoing.
If you are being treated for high blood pressure, keep using this
medication even if you feel fine. High blood pressure often has no
symptoms, so you may not know when your blood pressure is high.
You may need to use blood pressure medication for the rest of your
life.
Store amlodipine at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and
light.
Side Effects
Amlodipine may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of
these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
* swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
* headache
* upset stomach
* stomach pain
* dizziness or lightheadedness
* drowsiness
* excessive tiredness
* flushing (feeling of warmth)
Some side effects can be serious. The following symptoms are
uncommon, but if you experience any of them, call your doctor
immediately:
* more frequent or more severe chest pain
* rapid, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
* fainting
