Ingredients:
Cefotaxime
Sodium for Injection contains theactive ingredient cefotaxime sodium,
equivalent to 500 mg, 1 g or 2 gof cefotaxime. Cefotaxime Sodium for
Injection does not contain gluten,lactose, sucrose, tartrazine or any
other azo dyes.
Indication:
Be used to
treat infections in different parts ofthe body caused by bacteria.
Cefotaxime is also used to preventinfections before, during and after
surgery.
Drug Interaction:
Some following medicines may interfere with cefotaxime. aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as gentamicin) probenecid diuretics (such as frusemide).
Side Effects:
Common side effects:
nausea or diarrhoea pain or tenderness near the injection site.
Serious side effects:
severe persistent diarrhoea (which may develop during treatment or up to several weeks after you stop cefotaxime)
signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching or hives on
theskin; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other parts of the
body;shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing changes in the rhythm or rate of the heart beat.
Storage:
Cefotaxime Sodium for Injection will be kept in a cool dry place
where the temperature stays below 25°C.
